The 2025 Snaffle Bit Futurity marked an exciting milestone for KK Performance Horses as the first Outfoxxed colt stepped onto the futurity stage.

KK Foxes Ice Man, affectionately known around the barn as “James,” represented the program well in his futurity debut. The talented colt is by Outfoxxed and out of Shez Fire N Ice, a proven mare with over $30,000 in lifetime earnings, sired by Metallic Cat.

James is trained and shown by Christian Lybbert, and the young horse demonstrated many of the qualities that make us excited about the future of the Outfoxxed foals.

While the pair didn’t bring home a paycheck this year, the performance told us everything we hoped to see from an Outfoxxed offspring stepping into the show pen.

James showed himself to be:

  • A big stopper

  • Quiet and level-headed in the arena

  • Easy and enjoyable to ride

Perhaps most importantly, he handled the futurity environment with maturity beyond his years. He stayed relaxed, focused, and never got hot or overwhelmed—qualities that make a horse enjoyable for both competitors and everyday riders alike.

Anyone watching could tell that James is the kind of horse people would genuinely enjoy riding, which is exactly the type of horse we strive to produce.

Looking Ahead

We’re incredibly proud of KK Foxes Ice Man, Christian Lybbert, and everyone involved in bringing this young horse along. Futurity horses are always a work in progress, and seeing one step into that arena with confidence and composure is something worth celebrating.

This debut marks just the beginning for the Outfoxxed offspring, and we’re excited to watch these horses continue to develop and make their mark in the cow horse industry.

Stay tuned for more updates from the show pen as the KK horses continue their journeys.
